These plants on the edges of the leaves have numerous purple-colored glandular hairs which secret a thick sticky fluid to attract and trap tiny insects. Hence the plant is also known as a carnivorous/insectivorous plant.
The insects remain stuck to the glands. Through the sensory stimuli of tentacles, they press the insects to the leaf surface and are digested, thereby protein-digesting enzymes of the secretion.
The plant has various properties like an antibacterial, antispasmodic, antitussive, expectorant, and also hypoglycemic.

The patient begins to make sound and movement as if he will vomit and then vomits what he had first eaten in the morning, followed by mucus.
